I have seen lots of these layered ruffle cards using all sorts of border punches. I just happened to have some SU! polka dot paper scraps sitting on my work space and picked out the red and blue to go with my new Martha Stewart star border punch. I added some CTMH little inchie stamps from Happy Holidays set, stamped in CTMH Moonstruck and Tulip inks. I punched them out in 3/4 inch and layered them onto a 1 inch punched circle, intentionally off center, just for fun. I outlined the edge of the circles in CTMH Silver Glitz. Adding a simple knot of white satin with silver edges ribbon that came in my last Really Reasonable Ribbon monthly club kit, for the finishing touch.

Another fun SU! card buffet
This is one of the projects that Tina of the crazy stamp lady blog designed. It's one of the SU! cases. We created a pretty cover for the outside.
And we put a magnet sheet on the inside, it holds my small but growing collection of Edgelits. I added some elastic with eyelets and a pocket to hold the coordinating Embosslits.

Scallop top envelopes
I found my inspiration piece pinned here this morning, and instantly set to work on my Cricut Design Studio software. I made the coin sized envelope first, it's 3 x 3.5 inches, and then realized it would be a cool envelope for the unusual card size 3.5 x 6.25 inches. So I made a second envelope in that size too.
The kraft card stock that I have is stiff so it will definitely need some double sided tape to hold it closed, or I might try a circle held with and eyelet on the base and the flap and close it with a twist of twine. That would be cute too.
I designed this using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge, so if you have that and would enjoy making your own scallop top envelopes, I am happy to share my .cut file with you. Leave a comment below with your email address and I will send it out to you.

Altered frame wall decor
This was made as a birthday gift for a dear friend. It was a real labor of love. I was inspired by this idea I found on Pinterest. I pinned it quite a while ago and have been hoping to get around to making it. I started out with the best of intentions for mimicking the idea piece more closely, but the frame mat was the perfect color and I liked the idea of using the word LOVE for my decor piece for my friend. So I ended up with a finished project quite different from the original inspiration.
The gorgeous frame was found at Walmart, it was the last they had, or I would have bought more. I really want to make myself one of these now. The paper is absolutely gorgeous, made by The Robin's Nest. I cut the letters out with my Cricut and the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge, which I then ran through the Cuttlebug with a new embossing folder by The Paper Studio.
Here you can see some of the stamping I did on the mat itself. I used a Hero Arts medallion stamp and 3 different chalk inks randomly patted all over the medallion. I added bits of a 1 Corinthians bible verse with some tiny Studio G alphabet stamps.
Another detail shot. More stamping with mini Studio G stamps.
Detail shot of the lower right hand corner. The conclusion of the bible verse with more medallion stamping. In all of these detail shots you can see little dots of Liquid Pearls in the color Bisque, I just dotted here and there for highlights. I also sprayed the completed mat with Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist in Iridescent Gold. It really is pretty in person.
I include this pic since this is how I wrapped the picture frame. I cut out the paper lace with ribbon cut outs on the Cricut, someone else designed it and shared it. I wish I remembered who, I would give them credit and big kudo's because that was a lot of work. It cut out beautifully, I did use my embossing tool to punch out some of the circles, but really for as fine and detailed as it is, it cut out beautifully. I love how it dressed up this bland wrapping. Thank you Anne, designer of "anne_double_doiley_with_ribbon_slots" Cricut Design Studio .cut file.

Lace wrapped votive holders
I am making birthday presents. I saw this beautiful idea on Pinterest and couldn't wait to recreate it. I had the perfect lace in my stash, and inheritance from my wonderful mother-in-law. I found the perfect votive holders at my local Dollar tree store, 2 for $1.00. Can't beat that.
Here is a more direct and detailed shot. I ran some cotton twine through the holes in the lace and tied it in a bow around another bow tied from tulle. Sweet and simple. Kind of vintage, shabby chic I hope.
Here is how I wrapped these candle holders. A sweet lace printed vellum bag and yellow tissue paper all tied closed with some gorgeous Really Reasonable Ribbon club ribbon from my stash. Cute, cute, cute.

Washi tape birthday bunting
I was crafting all weekend to make presents and pretty little extras and decorations for my friends birthday. Her birthday is Tuesday so I don't want to possibly ruin the surprise so I have to hold off on posting the rest of my projects until then.
This birthday bunting was inspired by Pinterest here and here. Thanks to Groopdealz I have a healthy addiction to washi tapes now. This is such a cute and quick way to play with them.

Stamping with bleach
Wow, sorry for so many bad photos in this post. I could not get the details to come out. I tried flash, no flash, Ott lights with flash and no flash. They all would not pick up the bleach effect. So I doctored them in my picture editing software a little, but that washed them out too. Ugh!
I have seen several stamp with bleach ideas on Pinterest recently, so I wanted to give it a try. I used SU! papers and a SU! wheel stamp in the bleach then stamped on the black paper. The polka dot background is Hero Arts cling stamp, which I really love. I brought out my favorite Petite Messages also by Hero Arts and stamped it on a SU! punch shape.
Here is a close up. I guess I need to try some different papers to see if others bleach out more. SU! was subtle but I was happy with the effect.

Medallion card
I love this SU! Medallion stamp. I was beyond thrilled when I saw this gorgeous card idea on Pinterest. As you can see, if you clicked the link, I changed very little from the original design. Just the color selection and the sentiment, really. It was perfect as is so I went with it.
The above card was stamped with CTMH Black and Cranberry inks. I added the SU! mini flower punched shapes and some bitty pearls.

This combination was stamped in CTMH Cotton Candy and Black inks. The hot pink gems are from my stash. Both cards got a very healthy spritzing of Tattered Angels Glimmer mist in Pearl. I think it really made the stamped image pop. They are really pretty in person. The glimmer mist is always hard to capture in photos.

Masculine birthday card
This card is for my son, my first born. He is turning 19 years old this week. Yowee, does that make me feel old. It was inspired by this beautiful card on Pinterest . I recreated it in Brandon's favorite color, black. But I really like how it turned out. It's kind of classic, I think. I hope he likes it.

Pinterest inspired basket
This basket is so darling, and sooooo easy to make. I found the Pin-spiration here and couldn't believe how easy it was after I looked at the awesome picture tutorial. So I whipped out a piece of Kraft cardstock and got to work making my own cutey patootey basket.
I took a few extra pics of some of the steps that I had questions on. Like the instruction to cut off .25 inch of the 2nd and 3rd strips, I spent a little time holding my paper and trying to match it to her picture. It finally became clear and then I felt silly, but just in case it causes anyone else to pause in their pursuit of baskety cuteness I included the above photo. The picture above shows the strips that are trimmed down a .25 inch each. Also I used the Versa Magic Dew Drop chalk ink in Gingerbread to ink all the edges to give the extra depth and shadowing she spoke of in her tutorial.
This picture is a bit hard to tell, but if you click on it it will open up bigger and hopefully you can see I ran ATG tape over the 3 strips on the right side. I also turned it 90 degrees and added tape to the strips on the right corner again. Does that make sense?
Then I flipped it right side down and added tape to the inside of the other two sets of strips and the inside of both center triangle pieces. Then I completed the assembly as she has instructed in the tutorial. I hope this helped and didn't make it more confusing.
It's so cute and versatile that I might need to make this into a .cut file, although it really was quick and easy to create it manually. Hmm, the age old question. Tool or no tool?
