Project life printables as cards

I'm so excited about these cute card sets. I saw the link here for these cute quotes and background papers and was instantly enamored with them. From there the cards were so simple to put together, using the free online printables and a little bling from my stash. You can find the designer and generous sharer of these beautiful project life products and many more, here.

Here is more of the free printable set. I loved the chalkboard effect she created on two of the quotes. Amazing!

These are more printable 3 x 4 designs. Again I added them to some card stock and patterned paper and a little bling to dress them up.

Don't they make the sweetest set of cards? I really love them.

More Crayola Model Magic creations

I love this Crayola Model Magic stuff. It is so fun to create with. This was my first project post and my second project post. Now I have used it in these food grade molds, and it worked fantastic! Look at the detail the Model Magic was able to retain. The finished items are so light weight they will be awesome on hair clips or jewelry findings.

This is my second mold, I bought both of these on Amazon. This flower feels more delicate, I will have to see if the outer petals hold up or if they end up breaking off.

I plan to try coloring these with Copic's markers and also attempt coloring with CTMH reinkers in the clay before I shape it. I pinch off a tiny amount of the Model Magic and roll it in my hands a little then I put the Model Magic in the mold and press and squish it in to make sure I get it in all the nooks and cranny's. Then I trim off around the top, to flatten the backside, using my fingernail. I pop the mold in the freezer for 15-30 minutes, and them I just pop them out of the mold. The shapes need to dry for between 24-48 hours, and I usually flip them one or two times during that time just to insure consistent drying.

SU! Birthday candles cards

Finally, a little inky paper play has returned to my home. I have been out of the mood for paper creations lately, until a need for a few birthday cards struck. I took my inspiration for these cards from this card on Pinterest

For this card I used CTMH inks in Bubblegum, Sunny Yellow and Orange.

And this one has CTMH inks in Orange, Sunny Yellow and Pear.

Both cards are stamped with the new SU! Birthday Candles wheel and the sentiments are all from SU! Create A Cupcake and stamped in CTMH Black ink. I added some CTMH bling and bakers twine and the flames are decorated with Stickles in Star Dust.

Since I always unmount my wheel stamps and remount them on SU! easy mount foam I was able to cut off a few of the candles for stamping separately. I stamped these little bundles on the inside of the cards.

More mindless two skein cowls

Wow. I didn't realize how long it has been since I have posted. Apparently I am going through one of those periods where I have no mojo for paper crafts. I have however been enjoying crocheting. A lot. Funny to me, since the weather is all wrong. You have seen the above cowl in this previous blog post, but as I predicted at the end of the post, I did redo this project. I re-crocheted it according to the pattern instructions for 19 chains rather than the 29 I thought I would like. It was just too much all wrapped around my neck. The 19 stitches makes it so much better and several inches longer, which is just more comfortable all around.  I can't wait for fall so I can wear this cowl.

Then I did this beauty. Same stitch pattern. I have fallen in love with the beautiful scallop that automatically happens to both outer edges with this amazing pattern I have pinned here. But this time I used a MUCH thicker yarn and I dropped the stitches down to 14. I still had to use two skeins of yarn to get it long enough for my taste. This is Charisma yarn I picked up at Michael's and the color is called Holiday. I love the mulberry hues and the evergreen too. Gorgeous.

And finally I made this cowl. Jiffy yarn in dusty pink, it is yet another texture and thickness, somewhere in between the first two yarns. This one was worked up in two skeins and 14 stitches also. I have to say Jiffy is nice to work with but not really yummy to wear, it has a rougher acrylic feel to it. Not my favorite to wear around my neck and close to my face.

Patriotic nugget gift box

I made these little gift boxes for Memorial day (but they will be great for July 4th also). One to give to a neighbor whom had served in the military and thankfully come home alive and well after his many tours, and one to keep for myself as example and decoration. I love red, white and blue decorations and displaying the American flag, so this was perfect for me too.

I also love designing boxes, so when I saw this box tutorial I was inspired to open up my Cricut Design Studio software and get to work. I used George Basic Shapes cartridge to put this one together, using her tutorial for measurements and placement guidance. I love a good picture tutorial.

With the Cricut it is so easy to cut out layers and designs with borders, so I added the decorative layers to the .cut file also. Now that I have the basic box shape, I can swap out the star for any shape or holiday icon. Easy peasy. The finished box is 3 x 4.25 x 1.5 inches. I embellished the top of the box with the stars cut out from the lid, I scored them and folded them to give more dimension, added a little ribbon detail like a shooting star tail and a few red gems. I also cut a little coordinating filler paper and wrapped some nuggets in the same patterned paper and it's ready for gifting.

As always, I can send you this Cricut .cut file if you want to recreate this project. Just leave me a comment on this post, including your email address and I will send it to you. Please keep in mind, it is a Cricut Design Studio .cut file, I lack the knowledge of how to change it to a Gypsy, SCAL or any other type of file. I have had a few requests lately for me to send a specific type of file. Umm, no can do. I can send you my file and you can attempt to convert it, but for me I'm happy with my Design Studio. Even though DARNED Provo Craft has decided to discontinue it and stop supporting it. Which I am NOT happy about. But that's a rant for a different day.  :*(

Graduation card

This card idea was inspired by this pin on Pinterest. I thought it was a cool idea for a masculine type graduation card. I designed it on my Cricut Design Studio Software using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge and cut it out in the graduation boys school colors. I was stumped as to any embellishment to do and still keep it masculine, hence the stitch marks. It still seems like it could use more.....if it was for a girl it would be easy, ribbon, a few well place gems, but for a guy....I just couldn't come up with anything.

If you would like the Cricut .cut file, I am happy to share. It's very basic but time saved designing is more time spent crafting. So leave a comment below with your email address and I can send you my .cut file.
