Too kind card

Here is some more stamping on SU! Crumb Cake paper first in Whisper White Craft ink followed by the same stamps in Hello Honey, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana, with the SU! Too Kind stamp set. I added a bow out of the SU! Strawberry Slush Thick Bakers Twine. I am really enjoying this technique on kraft colored papers.

Painted petals cards

I saw this SU! Painted Petals technique here, and had to try it right away. I think it made some really bright and springy cards.

I used SU! ink pads in Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush and Blackberry Bliss on the flower stamps and Wild Wasabi for the leaves.

Add some coordinating ribbon and spritz with Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist and its ready to go.

Petite petalss card gift set

I have seen many cards recently using kraft card stock and a stamp in white ink and then stamped again over the top with another ink, I wanted to give it a try.

I used SU! Baked Brown Sugar and Strawberry Slush card stock with Whisper White craft ink followed by Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana and Hello Honey inks.

The sentiments are various SU! stamps and the flowers are from SU! Petite Petals.

I also learned that for a bow and ribbon to fit around a 4 inch card topper, wrap the ribbon around a 2 inch acrylic block and tie your bow. I pulled it off of the block and snipped it just a little off center. Since I knew I wanted my bow to be off to the right side of the card front, I cut the right side shorter. Then wrap the cut ends to the back and tape it down. It has the appearance of wrapping all the way around the card front, but actually saved me 3 inches of ribbon per card. That's a nice chunk of ribbon when making a set of cards.

Here is the supplies I used for this card.

1st Stamp-A-Stack class

The wonderful SU! Occasions Catalog and the fun Sale-A-Bration! Catalog are now available to order from, so we planned a card class around some of the goodies available in both. The above design is using SU! Big Day stamp set with Stampin' Blendabilities in Bermuda Bay and Pink Pirouette.

This card is made with the SU! Endless Birthday Wishes and new Lotus Blossom stamp sets in either Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette and Strawberry Slush inks or Wisteria Wonder and Perfect Plum inks for the flowers and Wild Wasabi for the stems and the card stock.

This is Tina's design using SU! Painted Petals stamp set in Pool Party and Wild Wasabi inks.

This was created with the new SU! Stacked With Love DSP stack and the SU! Crazy About You stamp and coordinating die set. So fun and easy to use! Love it!

This is a gift I made for my friend that was bringing a new (to me) stamper. A small token of appreciation.

These are the four cards that are wrapped up in the gift package. I made these with a large polka dot stamp from a prior SU! Paper Pumpkin kit and the Stamped With Love DSP stack and various sentiments from several SU! stamp sets.

Yarn creations

There is just something about winter that has me more interested in snuggling up and working with yarn, rather than paper crafting. I made lots of Christmas gifts this year. Above is a ear warmer head wrap made on the green Knifty Knitter loom. I did random combinations of purl stitches and knit stitches to get the texture you see above.

Both of these were made with left overs from other projects. I have no idea of brand just that they are a bulky or super bulky yarn. One thing I did learn is be SUPER loose on your bind off row, I mean when you think you are being loose enough, make it even looser. First to match it to the cast on row and also you do no want these to have a tendency of sliding up and off the crown of your head. The first one I made, that's exactly what it did, as you moved your head it slowly inched its way up and off.

These are just some of the preemie and micro preemie baby hats I made for a challenge I joined on Facebook. You can see the challenge group here, or search Sunset Crochet and 2014 NICU Challenge Hats. A lot of adorable hats made and donated this year, and lots of great free patterns available too. Check it out.

This is a crocheted beanie I made and had enough yarn so I made one for my friend Angela, doesn't she always make my yarn creations look so pretty?!?! This is the wonderful and easy pattern I used with Caron Simply Soft yarn. Whips up in a matter of hours.

And I also made two of these neon green and black beanies for my son and my husband. These are loom knit using Red Heart Super Saver yarns I believe. Not 100% positive anymore, its been a month or two since I finished those. A lot of yarn has passed through these fingers since then. ;)

Now I'm pretty much caught up with posts of what has been keeping me entertained these past few months. At least of the projects I took pics of before I gifted them. Happy crafting, whether it be yarn or paper crafting. It's all good!

3rd SU! Card Buffet

These are our card selections we offered at our December Card Buffet.

My only card was inspired by this card. I loved the un-traditional aspects of this design. Fun and funky.

These tags or ornaments are the SU! Wonderous Wreath embossed on black card stock and layered on a white card stock circle and hung from gorgeous coordinating ribbon.

This gift card holder was inspired by this design I found on Pinterest. I reworked in holiday papers.

The general idea for this gift card holder was inspired by this adorable Pin. Super cute chalkboard idea, I thought. I created the holder and liner on my Cricut and cut out multiples from one sheet of paper.

This simple gift tag was Pinspired also. I am so thankful for Pinterest and all the wonderful ideas collected there.

These are Tina's designs. A flip it card.

This is the inside. The snowflake on the lower left is popped up in such a way as to be able to tuck a gift card behind it if they chose.

This is a cash gift card design.

Here is the inside pocket and the pull out detail for signing on.

A Santa's belly designed gift card holder.

Super cute removable belt to reveal the sentiment and a gift card too.

A file folder shaped gift card. This is also a removable band to reveal the inside area for sentiment and signing and hidden gift card. The Santa had some glitter details and we colored the hat with the new SU! Blendabilities.

A two adorable gift tag options.

3D gifts & home decor projects

This is a beautiful home decor project put together by my SU! upline as a Christmas party project, needless to say there was too much fun and chatting going on during the party that I did not complete the project until later that week at home. But Ta Da!!! This is it. It is roughly 13 x 13 inches and is a lightweight wood base that looked like it was meant to be a tick tack toe kind of puzzle. I painted the outer frame white. Then layered all of the precut papers and embellishments on each removable wood squares. Adhere the squares down to the frame with some wood glue and I was able to hang it and enjoy it all holiday season. Thank you Janice Urke for the wonderful project and the fun party.

These are a few of the SU! Curvy Boxes with tags that I made out of an old DCWV Christmas paper stack, and gave to coworkers and friends. They hold 1 mini box of holiday Junior Mints, 1 mini candy cane and 3 Hershey's Kisses. Sweet treats wrapped up cute.

Cards, cards and more cards

Soooo, I have been crafting. A lot actually, I just don't seem to be in the mood for blogging. It's all cyclical for me. When I get busy the first thing to go is the blogging. So I will quickly show some projects I have completed and given away these past two months.

Above is a birthday card. I stamped some white card stock with a shwoopy-licious background stamp in a few different colors and then punched out with different sized circles, also in coordinating card stocks.

This was a fun stamp set find from Scrapbook Expo. A quick card set to give as a birthday gift.

SU! Ornamental Pine used for some November birthday cards. Hard to tell in this photo but I used Stickles to highlight edges of branches, needles and pinecones to give it a frosty snowy look.

A SU! Letterpress Winter birthday card. SU! Whisper White craft ink stamped on Rich Razzleberry and some dots of Liquid Pearls.

And a SU! Letterpress Winter Christmas card. I. Love. This. Card. I gave it to my mom because I know she save them all. It's even more bold, striking and elegant in person. The touch of SU! Cherry Cobbler card stock and the beautiful SU! Cherry Cobbler ribbon add just the right punch, in my opinion.

My December FUN swap card, the theme was angels. Sad to say I have had this beautiful stamp set for a couple years and never inked it up until now. I spritzed the finished card top with Tattered Angels glimmer mist.

And finally some new SU! supplies. The new SU! mini catalog is out and this is just one of the new DSP's that are available. Love them.

Sorry I have been MIA from my blog lately. Soon I will post all of my completed yarn projects and some cute 3D and home decor items too. And maybe now that the holiday season is over I will get back to some regular posting. Crossing my fingers.

Happy New Year! I hope it's full of crafty goodness.
