Watercolor wash birthday card

What a fun challenge card this was. Definitely out of my normal comfort zone but I was really happy with the finished card. I case'd a card right out of the catalog (remember I have been slacking on my blog updates) products.  Fun!

Thankfully I took this shot of all the SU! products I used, because I would have a hard time remember all these months later.

Flower birthday card

This was a labor of love for my dearest friend. I was inspired by this beauty, on Pinterest, but of course I changed it up just a bit. I love the bright color pallet and the whimsy of the offset rectangles. I love the SU! Paper Pumpkin stamps and the wonderful die cut too. Makes for such a bright and happy card. Just like the bright and happy friend I gave it too.

Where have I been?!?!

Sorry to have been MIA for so long. I have a good excuse. My oldest son got married. His sweet bride requested my help. I was absolutely thrilled to get to use my love of all things creative to help make their day special.

I was under strict orders to keep this under wraps until the day was passed. So now get ready for a photo heavy post of all the crafty goodness I have been up to over the last several months.

First came the save the date cards. 50+ of these beauties created. So fun since the bride, myself and my mom all worked together to create these. Good times spent together. Gals crafting, chatting and drinking mimosa's. You have got to love that.

Next we scoured Pinterest for invitation designs and combined favorite details to finally design this beauty. A wood grain embossed gate fold card where the flap actually slips under the ivory front panel. The twine was just a decorative belly band that slipped on and off. Again the three of us gals got to work, assembly line style, creating 50+ of these with coordinating RSVP cards.

This is the card I created to include with her shower gift. In retrospect I should have made it a 5 x 7 inch card, because I wrote a book and filled this lil 4.25 x 5.5 inch card up from top to bottom. ;)

Part of my gift was a hand crocheted wrap. First I made the shawl, but then began thinking it was too old fashioned so I also created a blarf (blanket scarf) and let her choose her favorite. She chose the blarf. And I get to keep the shawl. Win, win.

On to wedding favor creating. This is a lavender sachet. I case'd a box created by Pootles.co.uk and tweaked it to suit our decor and theme. I made a total of 45 of these. They are filled with a couple of tablespoon of dried lavendar buds ordered off of Amazon.

These are recycled glass jars of varying widths, heights and diameters. Wrapped in book pages that were punched with various heart punch shapes. The tops have been wrapped in jute twine and little embellishments of either gold cord or ivory crocheted lace. I filled them with Ikea tea lights. I created 27 of these, 3 per dining table.

These are a variety of recycled bottles wrapped in burlap and ivory crocheted lace and tied with more jute twine. Filled with silk flowers and greenery and stems of dried lavender that I had ordered off of Amazon also.

This is the dining tables center piece plan. Sweet and simple.

This is the guest book and wedding favor table at the reception. With the lavender sachets laid out on a tray lined with burlap. A few amber bottles wrapped in the same ivory crocheted lace and tied with the jute twine for decor.

I printed this explanation of what the favors are and stamped the lavender details and framed it to include beside the favors.

This is my card I made for them. It was a labor of love. I took much inspiration from this idea I found on Pinterest. I added the love knot out of jute twine detail over the crocheted lace to tie it all in with the wedding decor I had created.

This is the stamped images on the inside of the card. Before I wrote my thoughts of love and joy at their marriage and how happy I am for both of them and for the wonderful addition of a daughter to our family.

So, that's where I have been. What awesome crafty-ness I have been up to. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. I hope to post more regularly again.....hope springs eternal, right?

Case'd butterfly beauties

More swap cards to share today. Also a design I case'd, from this Pinterest pin. I switched it up a little with colors and flower layers.

Here's a close up. These were so simple and turned out pretty special I thought. SU! Gorgeous grunge stamps and SU! Butterfly dies make for some major wow factor. Don't you agree?

Case'd swap cards

Where has the time gone? I can't believe I have neglected to post for so long. I have so many pictures backing up on my phone and in my blog posts page. I will attempt to put some words to the pics and get some shared.

This card was a swap card I created a few months ago now. I case'd it from some wonderful person, but now I can not find it on Pinterest. Suffice it to say, I did not design it, I copied it from some very talented person.

Swap's are so fun for me. I already prefer to work in multiples when I am card creating. It just seems logical to me. I already have the supplies out so why not make more than 1? And I love getting all the swaps in return. It is amazing that we all take the same cue's and come up with such different designs. Fun, fun, fun!!!

Party pants birthday cards

Some fun cards with lots of layers and details, one masculine and one feminine was my intent. I think it works. I let the cute SU! DSP to the hard work and just added some embellishments for an over the top fun card.

The little detail that is hard to see in the first photo is the dimensional balloons. I had watched a YouTube video where the filmer showed how to put the punched balloon down on softer foam, use the large end of your stylist and gently rub in circles to create this rounded punched out shape. It's been a while and I don't have a direct link to share, but... the truth is out there. ;) I am sure you can find one or just play around and figure it out easy enough.

Gorgeous Grunge Butterfly gift cards

I'm making 3 x 3 cards, trying to use up discontinued SU! In color DSP and ink. I think they are pretty darned cute. I was inspired by this beauty, I just sized it down for my purposes.

Here is a close up. I stamped on the card front with SU! Gorgeous Grunge paint splatter in the ink and then instantly stamped again for two tones of the same color. Then I used the smaller splatter stamp and some gold ink. Thirdly I took a separate 3 x 3 piece of card stock and die cut the butterfly shape and stamped the sentiment from SU! Cottage Greetings. I created the 3 x 3 envelope with the SU! Envelope Punch Board using DSP stack papers. I'm making little sets of four as gifts for my Stamp-A-Stack class attendees.

Graduation card

This was a creation for a sketch challenge. I was really inspired by the design. I was going for a masculine graduation card, do you thing the silver glitter is too much? Or does it work?

More polka dot birthday cards

I started making this design here, and just couldn't stop. They are so easy and I think they are adorable.

More color combinations and experimenting with different embellishments.

Love the flicks of Wink of Stella Gold, simple touches to add a little oomph.

Case'd Easter butterfly cards

Once again I cased a beautiful idea I found on Pinterest. Oh thank heavens for all you very talented people who inspire me, because my brain just doesn't work that way. I can copy or case like nobodies business. I usually try to tweak a great design a bit to make it my own, but for the most part, I really need the help with a jumping off point.

This idea is gorgeous. As soon as I saw it I could puzzle through how to recreate it, although I didn't really need to because the original creator was nice enough to make a video and show her process. That's even more amazing to me. Love it.

But my brain never would have come up with this wonderful idea all on its own. So thank you again to all you wonderfully creative people for sharing your talent so generously. I really do appreciate it.

I used Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Old Olive SU! inks and card stocks and SU! Gorgeous Grunge stamps and butterfly die to recreate these beauties for myself.

Thank you sets of cards

I am so in love with the stamp set from the February 2016 SU! Paper Pumpkin kit. So simple to make beautiful cards with these stamps. So that's what I did, made tons and tons of cards. Fashioned after this beautiful creation I found on Pinterest. I added some flicks of gold Wink of Stella and a little border of coordinating card stock and finished off the set with matching decorated envelopes.

I used all 5 sentiments included in the stamp set. Actually I used every single stamp in the set. Fun!!!

The blue inks are Pool Party, Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy with Pear Pizzaz as the green on all the sets.

Just look at those sentiments. So pretty. These stamps just make it too easy.

The purple inks are Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Blackberry Bliss.

Hello sunshine! You make me so happy.

These pink inks are Pink Pirouette, Watermelon Wonder and Calypso Coral.
