Pink bows and glitter brads, oh my

Aren't these fun and girly? I don't usually make such girly cards. It took me two tries to get this right. My first attempts are ok, but I can't help but notice one issue, so I had to try again. I usually tape some of the ribbon down on the front and then run the rest of the taped ribbon around the backside. But between the beautiful light weight satin ribbon and the deep embossing of the top layer, you can totally see the embossed pattern through the ribbon. A minor detail, I wont throw the cards away because of it, but I am sometimes a perfectionist so I wanted to try again and get it just right.

I copied this card design from learntostampandscrap.typepad.com her 04-24-10 post. I don't have any really good stamps for coloring, like hers. So I searched through some of my new sets that I haven't inked up yet, and made due. I like how they make the card a bit whimsical and bright. I think it would be beautiful for Easter or a spring birthday, even a baby shower.

I used a SU! border punch and embossing folder.

The flowers and lil dragon fly and bee's are all from CTMH B1345 Forever in love stamp set. I did a very elementary job of coloring the stamps in with my Copic's. I love the colors but I am such a newbie at using them to their real potential.

I glammed it up even more with a lil stickles on the flower centers. I am very happy with the finished cards, and really love Lynn's blog for tons and tons of gorgeous inspiration.
Be inspired! Go... Create something fun & fabulous. Enjoy!

  1. I wouldn't have thought of putting the tan & pink together but it's really pretty

  2. These are very pretty! I know what you mean about the embossing showing through the ribbon. I found that if I use mini glue dots it works better. Just a thought.
