French swirls background card

I made these cards a while back. After Rubber Stamp Convention in Sac, where I had purchased this Deep Red French Swirls background stamp. I stamped it using my MISTI and Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I used CTMH epoxy dots to add the ombre effect with the dots. Layers and layers of card stock and a bow and its all done. A simple but elegant note card.

Same idea here, just a change up of colors and the addition of a sentiment on the front. (Sorry for the blurry pic.)

I absolutely love this stamp. And the MISTI allowed me to stamp multiple times to get the deep dark all over image. I love it!

Mother's day card & gift bag

Of course I finally order (and subsequently fell in love with) SU! Stippled Blossom just a month or two before they discontinue it. True I can continue to create with it for my own use, but I can't show my friends and have them fall in love with it too, because that would just be mean. But for everyone who already owns it, isn't it awesome? I know, I'm late to the party. As usual.

This is the card I made for my mom for Mother's Day. Her last name is Rose. Her favorite flower is Rose. So I thought this was perfect.

I used the top stamp layer only, the stippled design. And I stamped twice with SU! Real Red ink to get the two tones. Same with the leaf stamp, only using SU! Wild Wasabi ink. I had done the old masking using a post it note trick. I had punched out a circle and masked where I wanted my sentiment. This sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink.

The inside sentiment and shape around it is from CTMH. I have had it for a long while, so I'm not at all certain they still sell it. I stamped both the sentiments using my MISTI so that I could stamp them multiple times to get a super deep red color.

This is the decorations I put on a plain kraft gift bag. I used some discontinued SU! Real Red ribbon to made the bow.

I layered many paper and silk flowers from my stash and put a long since discontinued SU! brad through the centers of two of them.

Beautiful brads card

I saw this card design on a Facebook group a while ago. I shared my creations there but never here on my lil blog. This is a great way to showcase some beautiful brads. Draw a line on your card front paper, then emboss it in the folder of your choice. Place your brads, then attach your sentiment strip and layer on coordinating card stock and attach all of that to the card base.

In this set of fancy brads I had plenty to do these two cards and more. Love how it really shows of the brads.

Label love birthday card

I was inspired by this card I found on Pinterest to create this birthday card for a friend at work. She loves purple and butterflies. I know, this is SU! Rich Razzleberry but I was shocked to discover I do not have much in the way of selection of purple card stock. She still loved it. There is a lot going on with this card, embossing, stamping, punching, twine and rhinestones. Lots of little details. I really enjoyed making it.

My excuses and Sunburst technique cards

So, I have been away from my blog for a LONG while. I have good excuses. A trip of a lifetime I was able to take with my mom. It was amazing. We loved it. England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and back to England in 15 days. I have been home for nearly three weeks now. It took a while to settle back in, to family and home, not to mention work. Ugh! So my crafting mojo was even slower to return. But here I am.

Above is Edinburgh Castle. Mom and I both agree, Edinburgh, Scotland was our favorite location we visited. Such an amazing city and country. And the people, so kind and devoted to their city and country. But they love sharing her with us.

Here is Stonehenge. I believe we took roughly 300 photos that day. The way they have the area set up is amazing. You walk 360 degrees around it and in some places you get very near the stones. Just awe inspiring. The hard work, determination and ingenuity of ancient people. Simply amazing.

The Roman Baths in Bath, England. Another jaw dropping moment. The craftsmanship and details in such and ancient creation. Stunning.

My first castle of many. It stole my heart. Cardiff Castle in Cardiff, Wales.

And Wow! Just Wow!!! York Minster. Words can not describe. Inside and out just a stunning display of beauty. I just can not hardly believe how old things are there and how well preserved and all the detail work done by hand in a pre-technological age. Everyday I was BLOWN away.

Not that I am done with extolling the crafts of ancient places, but on to something more modern for the moment.

I have seen several of these sunburst type cards lately. I love the look, using a whole paper packet is great for variety and makes it easy on coordination. I followed this Youtube video and several pictures for additional decorating ideas. I embossed the piece after gluing all of the triangles to the scrap of paper.

All of these were made with CTMH paper sample sheets, of discontinued paper packs.

I added stamped sentiments.

Layered on some crocheted ribbon and different shades of bakers twine.

These cards are simple yet striking.

Such an easy technique and the look is so different because of the patterns selected.

A masculine card.

A neutral card. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy.

Neon tie dye cards gift set

I made this set of cards as a gift for a high school graduate, in hopes she will enjoy using them to keep in touch with friends as they go off to different colleges.

In this picture I hope you can see a little better the Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist in Pearl, that I spritzed all over the front of each card.

These were all sponged with my new favorite ink, Hero Arts Neons.

The CTMH sentiments were all stamped using the VersaFine Black ink pad.

I used my birthday present from my sweet mom, the EK Success flower punch to punch from black cardstock.

Adding a Queen & Co. Twinkle Goosebumps bling to the center of each flower.

Layer all the card tops onto black cardstock.

Attach all those to a card base, and BaZiNgA! Bright and cheery note cards to write in and keep in touch with friends.

This is the package of Glimmer Screens. I had purchased these last year at our local Scrapbook Expo, and just now got around to trying them all. It's love! Although they market them for use with their glimmer mists, I like the bolder look of sponged ink, personally. I just used a small amount of Dawn dish soap on my palm and my fingertips to clean the ink off each screen when I was done.

Sponged inks over stencil cards

These are created using Tattered Angels Glimmer screens and various VersaFine inks sponged over the top.

I stamped CTMH sentiments using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. Another new ink pad I am really loving. It makes a very crisp and bold impression.

I added some punched spiky circles behind coordinating colors of gems.

This shot is to show the Glimmer Mist I sprayed over the finished sponged image. The camera flash catches the shimmer better. They are very pretty in the natural light.

And for fun I thought I would share my sweet Thor, who wanted in on the photo shots. He's such a sweet helper.

Neon Petite Petals card

I was inspired to make these cards by this card on Pinterest. I recently ordered these stamps and coordinating punch from SU! and thought they would be perfect to recreate this card for myself. I still have my Hero Arts Neon stamp pads on my work station so I decided to use them also.

The sentiments used for both of these cards are from the CTMH You Are My Happy set. I used my decades old Creative Memories wavy cutting board to cut the black cardstock. It was very dusty, because it had been so long since I last used it. Add some Queen & Co. rhinestones and they are all done.
