Embedded embossed quilt block card with a Disney theme

I was inspired by all my Disney themed scraps to make a quick quilt block card. I adhered all my 1 inch punch squares to a scrap piece of paper and then cut it, a larger cardstock layer out of black and then two much smaller layers for my sentiment, all on my Cricut using CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge. I stamped the zig zag stitch lines and then I ran the quilt block piece through the Cuttlebug with one of the new CTMH Embossing Folders. The yellow strip of paper is scored on my score board and layered onto a 4 x 5.25 inch piece of white cardstock that I scored across the top and bottom. Adhere my quilt block layers and pop up my sentiment and this simple scrap card is finished.

More water color cards

I'm still playing around with water coloring. I stamped this SU! Easter stamp and heat embossed the image. Then I used a 1 inch paint brush to pick up some ink from the lid of a few different CTMH stamp pads and then just roughly painting over the image. Free form, no stress. I did go back with a smaller detail brush and add some more shading with the inks.

All of the shaped cut outs were cut on my Cricut and the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge. I created the double layers so I could have a narrow color card stock border. The top layer I ran through the Cuttlebug using various embossing folders.

If you would like to have this card topper .cut file for you own Cricut cutting projects, go ahead and leave a comment below including your email address and I will send the file out to you.

Scallop tag closure card

Yahoo! I am so excited. This is my first project done on Cricut Craft Room. (Yeah, yeah I know....a little late to the party. But better late then never, somebody has said before.) I was inspired by this beautiful card created by my CTMH upline Debbi Fournier. She shared her file and knowledge, tips and tricks and so I gave it a go. It was easier than I expected and since I already love working in the Design Studio it was pretty easy to figure out.

I used a retired CTMH paper packet for my test runs, just in case I messed up or didn't love it. Guess what? I didn't mess up and I love the finished cards.

For this card I used CTMH Outdoor Denim, Honey and Cranberry inks, on Pinwheel and It's Your Day retired stamp sets.

Here is my second card, still using the same CTMH paper packet and inks, minus the Cranberry for this one.

Different sentiment stamps though, from CTMH Hooray Bouquet and Celebration stamp sets.

I love these unique shaped cards and I think with this selection of papers and colors they make for nice gender neutral birthday cards to have on hand. I will be making more of these. Thank you Debbi, for the inspiration and instructions. I truly appreciate it.

Tea and chocolates gift box set

I found these cute gift boxes on Pinterest, a tea bag dispenser and a candy dispenser and knew I wanted to try to recreate them using my Cricut and Design Studio software. With the excellent diagrams and picture tutorials provided by each of the bloggers, it made my recreation so much simpler. I love the sharing of ideas and creations on the internet and finding so many wonderful things I didn't even know was out there through Pinterest makes it even better.

This tea bag dispenser will hold 18 Stash Tea bags.

I wrapped some Hershey's nuggets in matching patterned paper.

Both of the dispensers are cut in CTMH Cardstock, so they are nice and sturdy. Then another layer of cardstock that coordinates with the final layer of patterned paper are added. Then I taped the box all together following the bloggers pictures and instructions. I added a ribbon tie to hold things closed until the recipient wants to open them. I left the easy to slide on and off, so the recipient doesn't have to retie the bow each time she wants a treat.

I created both of these .cut files using Cricut and Design Studio software, I used George Basic Shapes cartridge. If you want this file to make your own gift boxes I am happy to share. Leave a comment below, being sure to put your email address there also, and I will send it out to you.

CTMH paper packet sample cards

I love this idea! I found this card on Pinterest and clicked over to this blog post where Mary Gunn, an awesome CTMH consultant has shared a great idea for highlighting the new paper packs. This beautiful card design allows all 6 patterns from each CTMH paper packet to be experienced together. I really really love this idea!

Above you see all the patterns available in the Skylark paper packet. With CTMH Lagoon and Chocolate card stocks and inks.

I love the colors and patterns of this CTMH Balloon Ride paper packet, with coordinating card stock and ink colors of Sorbet and Crystal Blue.

The beautiful CTMH Ariana paper packet and Crystal Blue and Coral card stocks and inks.

This is the vibrant and darling CTMH Lollydoodle paper packet. This is fun stuff! I paired it with CTMH card stocks and inks in Cotton Candy and Pear.

This is the decidedly masculine CTMH paper packet called Timberline. I love how this card turned out. Paired with card stock color of Goldrush and coordinating card stock and ink in Twilight and the addition of Chocolate ink and grosgrain ribbon. Lots going on but still maintains it masculinity. Perfection.

This is CTMH Ivy Lane paper packet. I have also used CTMH Pear and Hollyhock card stocks and inks.

And by far my favorite CTMH paper packet is Jubilee, paired with Cranberry and Indian Corn Blue card stocks and inks. Love it! And I believe this paper packet works into a nice gender neutral and even an age neutral card. Yahoo! Even better.

All of the bling on each of the above cards can be found in the CTMH catalog, but all of the ribbon I believe is retired. I was happy to have it since it coordinated perfectly. That makes my life easier.

Every one of the above card sentiments is made using CTMH Holiday Tags stamp set and the coordinating .cut design from the Artiste Cricut cartridge. I played with the shapes in the Cricut Design Studio software to make the 1/8 inch layering pieces.

If you have this stamp set and the Artiste Cricut Cartridge and the  Design Studio software, I would be happy to send you my .cut file to save you time on recreating these layers. Leave a comment below including your email address and I will send it out to you.

Valentines nugget box

A little chocolate love today. This is a matchbox style gift box I designed on my Cricut Design Studio software. It holds 6 Hershey's Nuggets. For a sweet message to a sweetheart.

I used CTMH Colonial White card stock for the base of the box pieces. Then I layered on SU! Cherry Cobbler card stock and some My Minds Eye Valentine papers. The bow on the cover is made with SU! Cherry Cobbler seam binding and I punched out hearts and then layered them on more Cherry Cobbler and used tiny scallop scissors to trim around them. I added some black rhinestone bling from Want2Scrap and that is the cover embellishments. The nuggets are wrapped in 1 x 3 inch pieces of the My Minds Eye papers and I used an EK Success 1 inch scallop square punch and a 3/4 inch square punch for the layers on top of the nuggets. The letters are CTMH Chocolate Alphas Small.

If you still create in Cricut Design Studio software and would like to have my .cut file I am happy to send it out. I am glad to save you time redesigning something so you can get down to the good stuff, the decorating and embellishing and making it your own stuff.....So leave me a comment below, please be sure to include your email address, and I will send you my file.

Valentines cards

I was inspired by this card, I found on Pinterest, to make these cards. I bought this gorgeous My Minds Eye paper pack at scrapbook expo this year and am loving all the cards I have made using these beautiful papers. I added a distressed piece of book print and an embossed piece of SU! Cherry Cobbler card stock behind that. Adding a SU! tiny tag stamped with a sentiment and a piece of SU! Cherry Cobbler seam binding and a piece of crochet trim all held together with a large black brad.

Both of these heart shapes where cut out on my Cricut using George Basic Shapes cartridge.

These are ready for Valentines day or even an anniversary.

Christmas tags

These are two tags I designed for an upcoming class. We are crafting in a red, white and black theme. The above tag was cut on my Cricut using CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge using CTMH White and Cranberry card stocks. I added a few punched snowflakes also, one is a Martha Stewart and the other is a Creative memories punch. Add some pearls colored black with a Sharpie marker and some CTMH tulle and a little tie of red and white bakers twine to finish it off.

This one is CTMH Cranberry cardstock punched out with Creative Memories tag punch. I punched the belt buckle shape using SU! bitty punch in Fancy Label shape and then I used the SU! slot punch on both sides and ran a strip of the wonderful new CTMH Glitter trim in black, for the belt. I again added two pearls that had been colored with the Sharpie marker for the buttons and a tie of bakers twine.

Cute gift tags to tie onto a cellophane bag filled with cookies or around the neck of a bottle of wine.
