4th of July washi tape bunting and hurricanes

I have an ever growing collection of washi tapes thanks to the great sales at groopdealz.com. I made two of these banners, one for my hutch and one to stick in the pan full of Fruity Pebbles Krispie treats (like rice krispie treats but made with fruity pebbles, try them, they are delicious!) to take to our neighbors holiday festivities. So simple and fun. Of course my inspiration came from Pinterest.

I also made another set of these fun Dollar Tree crafts I originally learned about here, on Pinterest and now have made several different versions, but none that would hold those skinny tall candles in the glass jars. So now I have these to change up with the seasons.

Telescoping scallop ovals card

I was really intrigued by this card design, I have made the snowman shaped telescoping card but had not even considered other shapes. Their card design was so pretty I mimiced it as closely as I could. Color scheme and all.

I designed these pieces on the Cricut using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge in Design Studio. The base shape is 4.25 x 5.5 inches so that when compacted down it will fit in a standard A2 sized envelope.

Here are close ups of each panel so you can see some of the details. I used CTMH Heartfelt Treasures for all of the floral stamps and the sentiment comes from Rosy Regards. It was one long sentiment and I snipped it into pieces to stamp on each of the panels. I do this occasionally, and as long as I carefully snip at an angle I find that when I want them all lined up in a long row again, it is easy to do so.

I used CTMH inks in Buttercup, Amethyst, Gypsy and Topiary.

The scallops are held together with CTMH Buttercup brads and I dotted the insides of each flower with Glitz in Stardust. The faux stitch marks where doodled on with the CTMH Gypsy pen.

In this Cricut .cut file I designed the ovals so they could be used as a mask to sponge and stamp on the next smaller size oval for the card. Thats what you see in the above photo.

4th of July layered ruffle card

I have seen lots of these layered ruffle cards using all sorts of border punches. I just happened to have some SU! polka dot paper scraps sitting on my work space and picked out the red and blue to go with my new Martha Stewart star border punch. I added some CTMH little inchie stamps from Happy Holidays set, stamped in CTMH Moonstruck and Tulip inks. I punched them out in 3/4 inch and layered them onto a 1 inch punched circle, intentionally off center, just for fun. I outlined the edge of the circles in CTMH Silver Glitz. Adding a simple knot of white satin with silver edges ribbon that came in my last Really Reasonable Ribbon monthly club kit, for the finishing touch.

Here is a close up of the stamping, layering and glitzing. Sweet and simple. I like it.

Another fun SU! card buffet

This is one of the projects that Tina of the crazy stamp lady blog designed. It's one of the SU! cases. We created a pretty cover for the outside.

And we put a magnet sheet on the inside, it holds my small but growing collection of Edgelits. I added some elastic with eyelets and a pocket to hold the coordinating Embosslits.

I even embossed the cardstock envelope with the three embossing folder designs.

This is the pretty polka dotted birthday card, we did fun masking techniques and glittering on this one.

This is a beautiful embossed and die cut monochromatic card. Simple and elegant. I really wanted to add a touch of red or maybe yellow. I still may.

Scallop top envelopes

I found my inspiration piece pinned here this morning, and instantly set to work on my Cricut Design Studio software. I made the coin sized envelope first, it's 3 x 3.5 inches, and then realized it would be a cool envelope for the unusual card size 3.5 x 6.25 inches. So I made a second envelope in that size too.  

The kraft card stock that I have is stiff so it will definitely need some double sided tape to hold it closed, or I might try a circle held with and eyelet on the base and the flap and close it with a twist of twine. That would be cute too.

Altered frame wall decor

This was made as a birthday gift for a dear friend. It was a real labor of love. I was inspired by this idea I found on Pinterest. I pinned it quite a while ago and have been hoping to get around to making it. I started out with the best of intentions for mimicking the idea piece more closely, but the frame mat was the perfect color and I liked the idea of using the word LOVE for my decor piece for my friend. So I ended up with a finished project quite different from the original inspiration.

The gorgeous frame was found at Walmart, it was the last they had, or I would have bought more. I really want to make myself one of these now. The paper is absolutely gorgeous, made by The Robin's Nest. I cut the letters out with my Cricut and the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge, which I then ran through the Cuttlebug with a new embossing folder by The Paper Studio.

Here you can see some of the stamping I did on the mat itself. I used a Hero Arts medallion stamp and 3 different chalk inks randomly patted all over the medallion. I added bits of a 1 Corinthians bible verse with some tiny Studio G alphabet stamps.

In all of these detail shots you can see little dots of Liquid Pearls in the color Bisque, I just dotted here and there for highlights. I also sprayed the completed mat with Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist in Iridescent Gold. It really is pretty in person.

I include this pic since this is how I wrapped the picture frame. I cut out the paper lace with ribbon cut outs on the Cricut, someone else designed it and shared it. I wish I remembered who, I would give them credit and big kudo's because that was a lot of work. It cut out beautifully, I did use my embossing tool to punch out some of the circles, but really for as fine and detailed as it is, it cut out beautifully. Lace wrapped votive holders

I am making birthday presents. I saw this beautiful idea on Pinterest and couldn't wait to recreate it. I had the perfect lace in my stash, and inheritance from my wonderful mother-in-law. I found the perfect votive holders at my local Dollar tree store, 2 for $1.00. Can't beat that.

Here is a more direct and detailed shot. I ran some cotton twine through the holes in the lace and tied it in a bow around another bow tied from tulle. Sweet and simple. Kind of vintage, shabby chic I hope.

Here is how I wrapped these candle holders. A sweet lace printed vellum bag and yellow tissue paper all tied closed with some gorgeous Really Reasonable Ribbon club ribbon from my stash. Cute, cute, cute.
