A card from You Are Loved stamp set

I have had this gorgeous SU! You Are Loved stamp set for a couple of months and it has never seen any ink. I had to rectify that this weekend. It was time, actually it was past time. So this is my idea for a non Valentine's take on this stamp set. I used CTMH Black and Cotton Candy inks and Cotton Candy card stock. The cute gingham ruffle ribbon and the velvet stitched ribbon are from Really Reasonable Ribbons online store. I doodle around a little bit with Black diamond Stickles and had to cover up a boo-boo with a tiny button.

Quick and simple stamped card, but I'm really happy with the finished product.

Sketch and scraps notecard

I am still playing with scraps from prior projects, from a Colorbok paper stack that I received as a wonderful birthday surprise. I love these colors and patterns and they make it so easy to whip up cute and simple cards. The design idea came from a sketch challenge on the Clean & Simple blog, FTL191. Sweet and simple.

Here is a close up of the pretty little embellishments. Just a little banner and some punch flowers layered up and held together with a pink brad. Love it.

Decorative paper shape and ribbon tab cards

I made these simple cards from inspiration found here. I liked the coordinating ribbon tabs on the side and the decorative shape as the focal point. I cut both shapes on my Cricut using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge. I cut it from 12 x 12 inch paper that had pretty floral decorative corners and nothing else really going on, so this was a great use for it.

Here is a detail shot. I stamped a little sentiment and highlighted some of the dots with different colors of Liquid Pearls.

This one I sort of failed at the placement of the shape on the paper. I wanted more white space for stamping my sentiment. But I decided to use it anyways.

Quilt strip cards

I was inspired to create this gift set of note cards from the gorgeous papers a friend gave to me for my birthday. Thanks , Ang. I love the colors and the coordinating patterns, just wonderful. So I wanted to use as many side by side as I could, and what better way than with the design I found in this pin on Pinterest? The papers are from a 12 x 12 inch stack of Colorbok Spring Morning set.

Here is a close up so you can see the details. I used a retired CTMH stamp for the faux zig zag stitching. I cut the banner and punched the flower from more Colorbok cardstock. Then ran the flowers through my crimper. The twine is new from a Groopdealz special I bought a few weeks ago, everything else is from my stash. Simple and sweet.

Mother's day and Father's day cards

I can share this with you today, now that it's Mother's day. Happy Mother's Day mom. My mom is my best friend, my favorite travel companion, my biggest cheerleader, my voice of reason and I am so thankful for her. Thanks mom, for every single moment of love.

This card is for my hubby. I know I'm early, but that's a good thing. This design was inspired by this blog post at I'm in Haven, a great blog. I used two CTMH square durables, they started out antique gold but I colored them with a Sharpie marker and made some little doodle dots with Ranger black enamel accents.

Scraps card

Oh, how do I love that everything on this card was made from scraps!?! Ok the ribbon is from my most recent Reason Ribbons monthly club pack and the card base is new, but everything else was literally sitting on my work space, left overs from prior projects. The flower and butterflies are from here and the sentiment shape is from here. It was my first test cut, and I decided it was not big enough, so I saved it and cut it again larger for the project. The most wonderful scrappy piece was inspired by this pin on Pinterest. Have I said lately how addicted to Pinterest I am, and how amazed I am by all of the beautiful inspiration I find there, daily? There are some amazingly talented generous people out there that I would never get to see and be inspired by their work except on Pinterest. Yahoo!

This is a close up of the strips, mine are random, meaning I did not measure to .25 inches exactly as the original tutorial creator did. Then I taped them down to a scrap piece of paper and when I had filled it in completely I ran the whole thing through my Cuttlebug in my Sizzix swiss dot embossing folder. I inked the edges, layered it on a hot pink card base, embellished to within an inch of it's life and Voila! A masterpiece of scraps that might have otherwise ended up in the garbage.

Altered bakers twine storage and gift boxes

I have recently purchased some really gorgeous bakers twine. I got a great price at Groopdealz on several spools of The Twinery colors. Too much twine for me to use alone so I decided to share with some crafty friends. I saw this great upcycled packaging for twine pinned on Pinterest, and couldn't wait to try it. I have been saving these SU! packaging cups forever knowing there would be just this kind of upcycling project to make. I also used a Crystal Lite package for the tall one. Then I used my Crop-o-dile to punch holes and add the eyelets to each container. I have 10 spools of twine so each stack has 10 holes. The SU! cups have 1 hole on the front and 1 down the back.

This is to show the little bit of decorating I did to the tops of the containers. I used some pretty papers I received for my birthday and punched circles and scallop circles to layer. I added lengths of ribbon from my stash and they are finished.

These are the little gift boxes holding the twine packages. I was inspired to create these on my Cricut by this pin on Pinterest. I used all new CTMH Dotty For You papers for these boxes. They are gorgeous and a nice thick weight. The finished size of the two smaller boxes is 3 x 3 x 4.5 inches and the taller box is 3 x 3 x 6.5 inches.

Here is a detail shot of the tallest box holding the upcycled Crystal Lite packaging twine dispenser gift. I used CTMH Sweet Leaf ink to stamp the sentiment from CTMH 4 My Friend stamp set. Add some doodle dash marks and a bow from the twine and they are ready to give.

The boxes are designed for the Cricut machine using Design Studio and George Basic Shapes cartridge. As always I am happy to share this .cut file. Leave a comment below, including your email address, and I will send it out to you.
