Pinterest inspired cards

I have been so inspired lately by Pinterest. There are so many talented people out there sharing their art and creations all over the internet but without Pinterest I never would have seen so many of them.

The first card I recreated was inspired from this beautiful card. As you can see I did my best to mimic it without much changes because it was perfection and I really loved every aspect of it. The colors used for this card are CTMH inks in Pear, Blush, Cotton Candy and Crystal Blue. I used SU! Vintage Vogue and Papertrey Ink sentiment for the images. A Martha Stewart butterfly punch and some Stickles for bling is all I used to finish this off.

This card was created from this Pin-spiration. I didn't have the exact flower stamp the creator used but I liked my substitute. For this card I used CTMH inks in Crystal Blue, Star Spangled Blue and Outdoor Denim on SU! flower stamp and Papertrey Ink sentiment. Some pearl centered brads and a little cotton crochet ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbons monthly club selection and I call this done.

I loved this simple beauty, and couldn't wait to ink up the SU! oldies but goodies. I have had these stamps since 2004. Glad to bring them out again for this cute card. This was stamped in CTMH Cotton Candy and Pear inks. The sentiment is from the same Papertrey Inks sentiment stamp set. Love the combination of plain type and cursive sentiment. I added some Hobby Lobby gingham ribbon and Stickles for a finishing touch.

Masculine birthday card

This masculine birthday card was inspired by this awesome card I found on Pinterest. Aren't all the best things found on Pinterest? I'm hooked. I try more new recipes, I find and recreate more cool cards and projects, I even learn and implement really important health and wellness tips. Pinterest is awesome.

This card is created for my youngest son, he is turning 18 years old. A man now. Yikes, do I feel old!

I love making cards for my sons, they seem to get "it". They have seen me creating cards and crafts for years now. They know how happy it makes me and they know what I put into each creation. Makes this mom happy.

I used the packing paper from the shipping box to wrap his present. I smoothed it out, wrapped the box, and then stamped the top with all the same stamps and inks that I had used on the card.

Brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things. Yes, I was singing the song from Sound of Music while I wrapped and stamped. And now I'm singing again as I'm typing this post. :) I'm such a goob.

All of the images are stamped using CTMH inks Black and Pear on CTMH retired stamp sets A Little Everything and Be Happy and a brand new set called For Always Cardmaking Workshop.

Birthday card using CTMH For Always

The layout of this card was inspired by this card, I really like the design and hopefully will be using it again. It's simple but it's got some wow to it. I ordered this CTMH card workshop kit and wasn't in love with the card designs suggested. So I set out to find something else to do with it.

I tried really hard to use the stamps that came with the card kit, but they just do not go with these paper designs.

Another stamp from the kit. I just wasn't loving it. So I went with a new favorite of mine from CTMH called Joyful Birthday Occasions. stamped in CTMH Petal ink. In my opinion is suits these elegant papers much better.

Tag trifold card

I was instantly inspired to open my Cricut Design Studio with CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and recreate this adorable card for myself. For this card I used CTMH Chantilly paper packet. Absolutely gorgeous colors and patterns. I used CTMH Perfect Fit -Birthday and Card Chatter - Focus on the Little Things stamps and stamped them in Ruby and Twilight inks.  I stamped the flowers from CTMH stamp set Hello Blooms in CTMH inks in Buttercup, Cotton Candy and Pear.

First tag flipped open, reveals a second tag on the right. It is decorated with the tear away strip from the tops of the paper sheets. Love this additional detail CTMH has added to their pattern papers.

Second tag flipped open to reveal the entire interior.

These cards will fit inside of a standard A2 envelope.

This is my second card using the same .cut file. This time I used the CTMH Claire paper packet and Sunset, Blush and Outdoor Denim inks with the same stamp sets as above.

Inside tag one. Same decorative strip of paper on the right side tag. Cuteness.

And the full effect. The paper packs really help make this card amazing, such gorgeous coordinating patterns. I added some CTMH Color ready seam binding and bakers twine for the finishing touches on both cards.

As with all of my .cut files I design, I am happy to share. If you would like this .cut file to recreate these cards for yourself, leave a comment on this post and I will email it out to you. Please be sure to leave your email address. It bums me out to have a kind comment and I am unable to find an email address on your blogger profile so I am unable to send the file.

Make a wish birthday card

I was so excited to make this card. It was requested by my youngest son to give to a friend at school. He says "I don't suppose you can make me a card with a wishes on it?" (We have always called the dandelion fluff thing a wishes, ever since both my boys were little.) I was surprised to find that I did have just the stamp. But I had no inspirations, so I went to Google images and put in the name of the stamp set and lo and behold there were several ideas to choose from. I chose this one.

I used CTMH  Treasures stamp set from 2009 I believe. Stamped the images using CTMH ink in Gypsy, Topiary and Star Spangled Blue. Punched some butterflies with the awesome Martha Stewart punch and Stickled them in Lavender and the centers of the individual wishes with Stickles True Blue color. A final spritz of Glimmer Mist in Pearl and it was all ready for him to give away.

I love making cards. I really love tailoring a card to fit someones personality or favorite things. But making a card that is requested by my boys to give to someone special trumps all of that. Woo hoo, this was a fun project for me.

Sympathy cards

These cards were inspired by the simple elegance of this card I found on Pinterest. I used CTMH inks in Juniper, Garden Green and Petal. The sentiments are all CTMH Card Chatter - Sympathy or Words of Comfort.

This card is stamped with SU! stamp set Fast & Fabulous.

This one is CTMH stamp set With Love.

And this is CTMH stamp set Words of Comfort. The half embossed card stock and the coordinating butterflies are soft and subtle embellishment for these serene cards. Perfect for sympathy cards I think.

Name tags using SU! Vintage Vogue

I stamped these name tags in CTMH Ruby and Olive inks using SU! Vintage Vogue stamp set and some small alpha stamps from my stash. I added a little CTMH Sparkles and they are ready to be worn.

Washi tape cards

Not that long ago I got an email from pickyourplum.com about a washi tape sale. Yahoo. So these are three of the 8 rolls I ordered that day. As soon as I received my package (I may have done a celebratory dance and squeal around my dining room first) I opened it up and started pairing the beautiful combinations together. Oh how I love my washi tape.

This card was inspired by this design I found on Pinterest.

This card is my copy cat of this card. I didn't change much for this design. Simple perfection, highlighting the beautiful washi tapes.

I think this may be my favorite, it was inspired from this card, found on Pinterest. Thank you Pinterest for making it so much easier for me to be exposed to more blogs and talented crafters, than ever before.

And finally this card, which I changed just a little bit. But still definitely a knock off of this beauty.

I was able to use a brand new stamp set I had recently ordered from CTMH. Joyful Birthday stamp set has 4 different birthday sentiments, I love them all. I used CTMH inks in Sunset, Sorbet, Orange and Hollyhock on these sentiments. I added a little sparkle or bakers twine, even a tiny brad, for a little added bling and this card set is done.

Mother's day cards

These cards were born out of a desire to showcase a beautiful new paper pad called Mirabelle that I had purchased at Hobby Lobby recently. They are all so gorgeous I really wanted to make some cards that I could use several patterns at the same time. So I went to the ever trusty Pinterest and found this card. It was a match made in heaven. The sentiment was stamped with SU! Something To Celebrate stamp with CTMH Ruby ink pad. I tied a bow using CTMH Color ready seam binding.

These pretties were inspired by this card. I changed it up just a little. Again I used the SU! sentiment, this time inside the SU! Four Frames stamp and coordinating Decorative Label punch. These were stamped using CTMH Ruby and Cocoa ink pads. I added more seam binding and just a touch of SU! bakers twines for the little bows.
