I was making Christmas cards in August

I love using up scraps. I love letting beautiful coordinated papers do all the hard work. These two projects definitely fulfill those wishes.

The cards above were quick and simple. But I think, super adorable. I was inspired to recreate this wonderful design using a retired SU! Christmas paper stack. All the coordinating designs made these cards quick and easy to put together. Add a tiny sweet sentiment and a bakers twine bow and voila! Perfection.

I love how these turned out. I copied this inspirational card. But this look is not quick or simple. Oy vay, gluing and aligning each of those punched hexagon shapes was tedious and time consuming. Just fair warning.

Pinterest inspired washi tape card

I had pinned this beautiful card quite a while ago, with every intention of making my own version of it. I got these gorgeous fabric washi tapes specifically with this project in mind (I want to say it is Martha Stewart brand, but I am not positive and I no longer have the wrapper or label).

I love how these cards turned out.

I tried it with both large and small scalloped Spellbinders rectangle dies. I did discover it was easiest to cut the scallop shape then adhere the white card stock rectangle and finally punch the SU! Butterfly shape through the layers. The sentiment is from SU! A Tin of Cards set and stamped in SU! Real Red.

Granny stitch cowl

This gorgeous Alpaca yarn was a purchase in Ketchikan Alaska at the cute little yarn shop on Creek Street. It is Mirasol Pagu Pura yarn and was $20. per skein. It was an investment, but I considered it a wonderful souvenir of my visit to Ketchikan. There are two variegated skeins and I stitched it into a kind of granny stripe cowl inspired by this pattern. It is pure heaven to wear, totally worth the expense. The nicest yarn I have purchased and it worked up into the prettiest and softest cowl I have made to date. And added bonus each time I wear it I smile remembering my cruise to Alaska with my mom, and our lovely day spent in Ketchikan Alaska.

Papillon potpourri card case

Oh my, I did not realize how long I have neglected my blog. I have so many project to share, just no desire to type up the details and link to the proper credits for inspirations. I'm crafting a lot, holding monthly stamp-a-stack classes, participating in two card swap groups and beginning to crochet for Christmas presents. But I have no patience for blogging right now, sorry.

The card above, in blues was designed by my friend and SU! upline Tina. She designed this for one of our co-hosted stamp-a-stack classes. I came home and attempted to copy it. I loved hers, my interpretations is just ok to me. Sometimes my tweaks to someones design works out, sometimes it doesn't.

I hope I see you soon. I will try to catch up sharing past projects.

Disney style card set

Using some Disney style paper and some Mickey punches to create a batch of Disney note cards to give as a thank you gift.

The paper is by Creative Imaginations and the stamps are a pack from Joanns, but I can't find the label anymore.

Sizzix flip it card Disney style

I think this is my first Sizzix flip it card. My mom got this great Sizzix die set on sale on line and shared it with me. Of course I happened to have awesome Disney papers lying on my work space so I decided to use them. Then I found the perfect stamp for the fireworks themed paper.

It was meant to be.

I am thrilled with how it turned out. Let the paper do all the hard work and it turns out adorable. Love this flip it style. The dies make it so simple to achieve. Win, Win!!!

August Stamp-A-Stack class cards

Another fun Stamp-A-Stack class with a great group of friends. The above card was case'd from this beautiful card. I changed very little because I loved everything about it. The ladies at class seemed to really love it too.

This soft and sweet beauty was inspired by multiple cards. I swiped details from one and color combo's from another. Combining them all for this bright card. Very fun with just a touch of bling.

July Stamp-a-stack card class

These were designs made at our July Stamp-A-Stack class. This first card was inspired by this Pinterest find. I just switched up the paper selection.

This design found on Pinterest inspired my second card option. I changed very little. I liked the original so much.

These are the party favors I copied from this tutorial. Great instructions made it easy to whip these out. I filled them with a couple of Hershey's Nuggets and tied them closed.

A close up of the beautiful discontinued, but still loved, SU! DSP, and the cute little layered punch details.

Shoe theme swap cards

Super simple cards where the paper does all the hard work. I got the inspiration and layout idea from Airbornewife's Stamping Spot. She offers great tutorials on maximizing one 6 x 6 inch paper pad, for card making. So when my swap groups theme was shoes, and I didn't have any stamps I went looking for paper. In a bit of a stretch I think rubber boots qualified. Then I found the perfect sentiment stamp  to include with rain boots.

I love how these turned out. Beautiful paper makes cute cards easy. This is from an Echo Park paper pack, I can't locate the label any longer. But it is beautiful quality paper. Love it.

June Stamp-a-stack class cards

These are my designs for the June Stamp-A-Stack class my friend and SU! upline Tina and I host every month. I found my Pinspiration for this cute but simple card, and changed very little. It is an awesome design. My class attendees really enjoyed recreating it.

I took my initial design cues from this card on Pinterest, but had to change up the colors. I am not a big fan of the Delightful Dijon, so I swapped that out for the Bermuda Bay that also coordinates with the Bohemian DSP.

I appreciate all the amazing talent out there and the ability to gather all this wonderful inspiration onto one place for access any time. It's truly amazing.

July Paper Pumpkin cards

This may be my most favorite Paper Pumpkin kit yet. I love the stamp set. I haven't done much with the papers that came in this set, yet. I will find some inspiration.

Here I have just randomly stamped the cups all over SU! Crumb Cake card stock in the Early Espresso ink. I then colored with the no longer available, but I still love them, Blendabilities. Super quick and simple, but so cute.

Here I used the die cut tea cup shapes. I created a little tea bag pocket and decorated it with a portion of doily.

Attach it to the front of a card, here you see one pocket open, with the packaged tea bag slipped inside. I used a glue dot to hold it closed after filling it.

This is a gift card holder made with the Envelope Punch board. The sentiment is a sneaky peak at a new set, A Little Something, coming soon in the Holiday Catalog.

I stamped and then fussy cut out the tea cup. Then see how I was able to create a mirror image? Ugh!!! Not as easy as it looks. I followed this tutorial, but none of my inks created a dark enough stamped image. So I finally just got out an extra fine point Sharpie and traced over all my light stamped images. Not perfect but it works. Fussy cut the mirror image and away you go.

Same gift card holder decorated for Christmas with yet another sneaky peach of paper, Merry Moments, also available in the Holiday Catalog.

This is the inside of the gift card holder. Very cool! The tea/coffee cups are perfect for decorating a Starbucks gift card.

June Paper Pumpkin cards

These are my completed June SU! Paper Pumpkin kit cards. I love this months kit. Love the stamps. Love the ink pad. Love the girly cards and the masculine cards. This monthly subscription kit just keeps getting better and better.

This masculine design, I didn't change much either, from their original intent. I didn't want to, because I loved it straight out of the box. But now that I see all the adorable alternatives on Pinterest, that other people have made, I want to order a refill kit and do some of the alternate designs.

So much fun in a box.

Medallion card

How much do I love that this medallion stamp is from the $1 bins at Joann's and the polka dots were made with a pencil eraser dipped in the ink pad? Very, very much!!!

I used SU! inks in Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Tangerine Tango on Crumb Cake card stock. A few rhinestones, some bakers twine and a sentiment layered up on different punched coordinating card stocks and you have a finished note card. Quick and easy and inexpensive. Can't beat that.

CASE'd birthday cards

This card is CASE'd from this beauty I found on Pinterest. As you see I loved it so much I changed very little. I guess I just did more....of everything. The leaves, the butterflies, the inking around the edges. I used sequins instead of rhinestones.

The leaves are from SU! Kinda Eclectic in Wild Wasabi ink, the butterflies are also SU! Kinda Eclectic in Strawberry Slush ink. The sentiment is SU! Endless Birthday Wishes.

French swirls background card

I made these cards a while back. After Rubber Stamp Convention in Sac, where I had purchased this Deep Red French Swirls background stamp. I stamped it using my MISTI and Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I used CTMH epoxy dots to add the ombre effect with the dots. Layers and layers of card stock and a bow and its all done. A simple but elegant note card.

Same idea here, just a change up of colors and the addition of a sentiment on the front. (Sorry for the blurry pic.)

I absolutely love this stamp. And the MISTI allowed me to stamp multiple times to get the deep dark all over image. I love it!

Stamp-a-stack cards class

A simple masculine birthday card made using SU! Gorgeous Grunge stamps with Sahara Sand and Mossy Meadow ink. The sentiment is from SU! Four You set. I took my design inspiration from this card on Pinterest, just changing up my colors and sentiment.

A beautiful card where the SU! Painted Blooms paper is the star, complimented by an embossed frame and any simple sentiment. A little coordinating card stock, ribbon and bakers twine completes this quick yet stunning card.

These party favors are made using the SU! Curvy Keepsakes die. I cut it out in card stock and also in cute polka dotted doilies by Bo Bunny. Then I glued the doily to the card stock shape and assembled. I filled them with star burst candies, because their wrappers went so nicely with the bright doilies. These made a quick and cute party favor.
